Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced changes to the CTA on Wednesday while unveiling the updates to the Grand Red Line El stop.
The changes include building a Green Line El stop at McCormick Place to better connect the convention hub to the city, as well as remodeling the Clark/Division Red Line stop.

The CTA plans to spend $200 million in improvements and additions to El stops, including $86 million alone on the Clark/Division renovation. The federally-funded Clark/Division is scheduled to begin in March, it was announced Tuesday.
The Grand Red Line stop renovations took years, at times snarling traffic in the area because of barricades and construction equipment. It’s the second renovation in 17 years for the Grand stop, which was updated in 1995, the year before the Democratic National Convention came to downtown Chicago.
